I love reading.
whenever I go to the library I seem to come home with way more books than I could ever possibly read. I don't know if it's a combination of seeing that ever-towering stack of books beside my nightstand or maybe the fact that I love multi-tasking, but I always seem to be reading/in the middle of about five books. I start one, read a bit, put it down, start another, read a bit, pick up a book I started a couple months ago, finish it...you get the picture.
anyways, here are the five books I'm reading right now:
1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
2. And the Pursuit of Happiness by Maira Kalman(here is a snapshot!)
3. Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy (biography on Dietrich Bonhoeffer)
4. Genesis (I am counting the Bible as a book)
5. Oracle Bones by Peter Hessler (book about his experiences in and the history of China)
what are you reading?
i really need to get around to reading pride & prejudice! it shall be done this summer! xx

ReplyDeleteThe cake pops were soooo yummy!!! They could of been bigger and the chocolate over them wasnt so smooth. lol but next time i will try a double boiler and that should help :). We should do it together.

Is this your first time reading Pride & Prejudice? It's one of my very favorites :) I love reading too, but I feel like I'm such a slowww reader. I used to be able to read multiple books at a time when I was a kid, but if I tried now, it'd take me years!

East of Eden is really good! It's by John Steinbeck. It's got a lot of biblical significance related to Cain and Abel and how important it is for each of us to make a decision each day to be... well, hey, for all I know, you might read it some day -- so I don't want to spoil the ending. :-P

finishing up WUTHERING HEIGHTS. I forget who writes it?? I am assuming it is either Charlotte Bronte... or... hmmm.... I'll get back to you. My memory isn't the best but I am sure loving the book. It is so darn scandolous and vulgar in all the classical british ways. Nothing compared to the filth we are subject to now and days but I can only imagine how it was taken and perceived by audiences back in the day... love your reading list. I read SENSE AND SENSIBILITY a month ago and Loved it as well as JANE EYRE in MAY. I'm in a classics stage and am loving them all so far!
